The Spanish giants plans to build the park on a United Arab Emirates man-made island that will celebrate the history & triumphs of the richest football club in the world.
Real president, Florentino Pérez promised a “sports tourist complex of the highest level in which tourism and sport will seduce millions of people in search of quality leisure activities”.
The 100-acre Real Madrid Resort Island will feature a roller coaster that extends out over the water, a SeaWorld-style dolphin show and a hologram cinema all inside a climate-controlled theme park.
Real Madrid officials, who say that more than half of the team’s 300 million worldwide fans live in Asia and the Middle East, expect to draw a million visitors annually to the resort which will be complete with luxury villas, 450-room five-star hotels and a yacht marina.
Pérez, announced that his club “strives to be eternal and universal”,
“When the Real Madrid Resort Island opens its gates visitors will become part of the legend of this club,” Pérez said. “We adhere our name and potential to a unique location, a strategic meeting place and a project of unprecedented dimension. The world of sports and Real Madrid again prove to have no boundaries.”
In addition Real Madrid Resort Island will also feature a 10,000-seat waterfront stadium, which no doubt will be expected to host the galactico players themselves from time to time.
